Polyester

Flexible foam made from slab-stock of polyester-based polyole. Polyester is available like polyether in a great Varity depending of the application. The foam made by polyester may be treated and processed in the same way as polyether but polyester may also be HF- welded and welded with only heat. Polyester has more even cell porosity (cell size) than the polyether and is less affected by organic solvents, oil, grease, acids and detergents.
The polyester foam is normally used as sound-absorbents, packaging, filters, sealing and buffing pads. (Polishing pads)
Polyester foams are codified normally with an S xxy followed by E, EW or D. S stands for polyester and the first two digits refer to the maximum net density plus one and the y refers to the hardness. The suffix D = MVSS 302 Product, EW Edge weldability, and E for a good clickability (How well it may be die cut)
Below some common qualities with their own names.

Situseal/Isoseal

Density 40-50 kg/m³. Isoseal has a high percentage of closed or partially closed cells. Therefore it exhibits a higher resistance to airflow and is used in numerous applications in the automotive industry.

Superseal W

Superseal

Density 40-55 kg/m³. This water-repellent foam with an excellent water sealant property combined with a low water absorption and low air permeability and still easy to compress. Thanks to these characteristics Superseal is successfully used as an air seal in humid environments or as a water seal.

Bulpren Firend

Bulpren Firend

Density 80 kg/m³. Will meet most of the fire tests and may be found in some different pore sizes. The Firend material is normally used as an interlinear for cushions and mattresses and acoustical correction and in complexes with fabrics and heavy mass. Can be used also as a water and air filter.

Fireflex 560

Fireflex

Density 30 alt. 60 kg/m³. This material can also be purchased in a Polyether variant. It will meet the fire standards MVSS 302 and UL94 . The material is mainly used for sound absorbent purposes in the automotive-, electronically-, process- and household goods-, transport industry.

Bulpren S 28089

Bulpren

Density 25-34 kg/m³. The typical filter material, which can be provided also in a flame-retardant version. The cell sizes vary between 8 and 90 pores per inch (PPI) but today we talk rather of 400 to 5500 µm in cell diameter. These grades are normally used in filtration and pre filtration applications for both air and liquids.

Pottscorer 515

Pottscorer

Density 28-40 kg/m³. This quality has a much higher mechanical resistance than the standard Polyester with the same density. The quality is available in different hardness and cell sizes. It used among other applications for buffing pads and paint rollers.

Sweepex

Sweepex

Density 20-30 kg/m³. Used for different types of Sponges. The material is available in different cell sizes.
